Noreq AS has been selected as supplier of a complete lifesaving package to one of the world’s most modern safety schools, located in Dubai Maritime City - the new world-leading, iconic, multi-purpose maritime centre.
Lifeboats, rescue boats and davits
Norwegian-based Noreq AS has been awarded this milestone contract by Dubai Maritime City and will supply the new safety training centre with a complete package of lifeboats, rescue boats and davit systems. The equipment will be delivered in October 2009.

Safety for the future
Managing Director Styrk Bekkenes in Noreq says: ‘Our targeting of and presence in the UAE has proved profitable. The market in this part of the world clearly prefers equipment solutions developed to meet the safety requirements of the future. We are also experiencing a great deal of interest in our new davit concept, whereby functional failures and maintenance costs are largely eliminated.’ The new Noreq Compact Davit system to which Mr. Bekkenes refers is the first in the world in which all functional components are built in and completely protected from the wind and the weather.‘This is really a milestone for our Middle East business and will give us an important showroom in the region’,
